Pavlova

There is a healthy rivalry between Australia and New Zealand as to the origins of the Pavlova. "Legend" has it that during a 1926 world tour, the famous Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova performed in a production of "Swan Lake" in Australia. In her honor, a master chef created a dessert  which, like the dancer, was light and airy.... And so the Pavlova was born.

Erica's Kitchen Pavlova has all the features you would expect from a great Aussie icon.  Crisp on the outside, with a marshmallow centre.  Who needs to make their own?  Follow our simple suggestions for spectacular results:

  • Seasonal fruits drizzled with passionfruit pulp
  • Fresh berries sprinkled with crushed toffee
  • Crushed peppermint crisp sprinkled on whipped cream
  • Flavour cream with a teaspoon of instant coffee.  Decorate with grated or flaked chocolate and milk and white chocolate malt balls.
  • For a kids party, decorate with jelly snakes, marshmallows, flaked chocolate and drizzle with chocolate sauce.
  • Celebrate with this great tradition at your next barbeque or party. Try our green and gold pav or design your own unique creation.
